Non Conventional Sources of Energy

The world is in desperate need of finding renewable energy solutions and non conventional sources of energy.  We are moving toward an energy crisis as we consume up all the resources we have previously used as sources of energy and become more reliant on those who still have those resources.  We are also facing the consequences of the ways we have previously produced energy in terms of our environment and the damage we have caused.  When we talk about renewable energy solutions and non conventional sources of energy, we are referring to three basic types of energy: solar, hydro, and wind.

The first non conventional source of energy is solar.  The energy of the sun is the most abundant energy available on the earth.  It is virtually free and does not harm the environment at all.  Take advantage of the power of the sun with solar cookers, heating systems, lighting systems, and dryers.  The sun's energy has always been a source of heat and light, and now with the help of technology, it can be harnessed and stored to be used as a solution to any energy needs.  Solar power is not only cost effective and has no harmful effects on the earth, but also is healthy, user-friendly and gives families an immediate return on their investment of time, energy, and money.

Using hydro or water power to produce electricity is also considered a non conventional source of energy.  It is also a renewable source of energy and is already being used to produce electricity on a large scale through the use of dams.  There is technology out there where we can convert cars to run off of hydro power.  Some appliances can also be run off of water power.  Research and find out more about how water power can work for you.   A criticism of hydropower is that it could harm marine life and water fowl.

The third non conventional source of energy is wind power.  Windmills have been around for thousands of years, but have never been used to their fullest potential.  Wind power has very few criticisms and uses a source of energy that is readily available.  It is an excellent source of renewable energy and works well in conjunction with solar power.  Windmills used on your property, can power your entire home and possibly provide energy for your neighbors as well.  Again, more is being learned everyday about the power of wind and how it can be used to power our homes at a lower cost in dollars and in damage to our environment.

If you are concerned about the direction our world is going with energy production, you owe it to yourself and your family to check out renewable energy solutions and non standard sources of energy.
