Why BioFuel ?

Why choose BioFuels over traditional fuels?  Bio-fuels are fuels that are formed when biological matter decomposes.  Bio-fuels are mostly derived from plant matter and exist in solid, liquid and gas form.  Bio-fuels can be made very fast as compared to fossil fuels which take a million years to make.  Bio-fuels generate very little pollution while being formed and bio-fuels are renewable sources of energy unlike fossil fuels.  Why Bio-fuels?  Fossil fuels are disappearing and Bio-fuels reduce our dependence on these depleting fuels.    Bio-fuels produce lessen the carbon emissions that are released into the atmosphere.  Bio-fuels save consumers money.

There are four major categories of Bio-fuels- first, second, third and fourth generation bio-fuels.  The first generation bio-fuels are derived from vegetable fats, starch and sugar which come from food crops.  Second generation bio-fuels come mainly from the waste biomass and include alcohol and diesel.  Third generation comes from algae.  Algae is farmed on a large scale to produce this kind of bio-fuel and is extremely environmentally-friendly.    Fourth generation bio-fuels are produced when micro-organisms are used with carbon.

Bio-fuels are not perfect-they have been criticized for interfering with crops that could otherwise be used for food and for using resources that encroach on habitats of plants and animals. Fossil Fuels have plenty of complaints also.

Why Biofuel?  Bio-fuel is the best alternative to fossil fuel, even with its criticisms because it is more efficient, effective, and economical.
